Assembly Bill 832 was signed into law on June 29, 2021 and extends the due date for tenants to pay 25% of their rent from June 30, 2021 to September 30, 2021. Tenants who provide a COVID-19 Declaration of Financial Distress now have until September 30, 2021 to pay 25% of the rent due from September 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021.
No eviction to recover COVID-19 rental debt can be filed until November 1, 2021, subject to limited exceptions.
