On May 4, 2021, the County of San Diego Board of Supervisors passed an ordinance that further restricts evictions in San Diego County. This moratorium stops evictions at all stages unless the eviction is necessary due to an “imminent health and safety threat.” This moratorium applies to all residential tenants regardless of whether they are directly impacted by COVID-19 and is effective on Thursday June 3, 2021.
If you have served a termination notice or nonrenewal notice on any of your tenants you need to consult an attorney to determine whether this notice will be enforceable. If you have an open eviction case with our office or had our office serve a notice for you that you planned on filing an eviction based on that notice, our office will be contacting you to discuss your options.
Please see the ordinance linked below to help you better understand the San Diego eviction moratorium. Please submit any questions to [email protected] or reply to this email and our office will get back to you as soon as possible.
